The name Smith & Wollensky was picked from the ex-presidents of Rhodesia, Ian Smith and Roy Wollensky.

Marius Batts the owner of Smith & Wollensky and his team is driven by an enormous sense of pride and integrity, to bring you the best food and service so that your experience with us will be most memorable. 

We specialise in the finest custom-aged South African beef, broiled the way you like it up to 380 degrees Celsius to lock in the flavour.  Our menu also incorporates a superb selection of seafood.  We entertain our guests with food, ambiance and personal service.

Smith & Wollensky is a place to drink a lot, eat too much and enjoy good conversation with friends, family or business associates in an upmarket, but not pretentious atmosphere: A new level of excellence in the leisure market.

In South Africa we have been brought up with suburban steakhouses and the word 'steakhouse' brings a couple of childhood memories to mind: a pleasant place to eat and have your steak and chips; a side salad, a glass of beer or maybe some wine.  But you are here for the steaks, a carefully broiled cut to tantalise your palate.
